The nine-track Ill New You is 70's rock, short on frills but long on staying power. The band is content to find the groove and settle into it as soon as possible, adding bombast as needed. Vocalist/guitarist Dylan Francis may get on the shrill side of the Robert Plant school of singing, but never to the point where it's a deal breaker. I was going to name some highlights, but I realized I had listed the first five songs and had more to go, so let's just say this one's recommended for fans of The Brought Low, Shame Club, Wolfmother, Year Long Disaster, and just about any other band that knows the best decade for rock was the one that ended with the Carter administration. Strong riffs, strong writing capabilities, hard hitting rhythms, you can't go wrong with this band...their tunage just sticks in your head.
